Qun Kwa, also known as Kwa Qun, is a traditional garment from the Guangdong region. Today, Qun Kwa has become a traditional wedding attire; tracing its origins, Qun Kwa was once official attire and also the standard ceremonial dress for commoners, gradually becoming everyday wear. This lecture invites Dr. Tang Ka-chau, Council Member of the Hong Kong Historical Society, to explore the development of Hong Kong's embroidery industry through the historical origins of Qun Kwa, and to analyze the value and significance of Qun Kwa in the Guangdong region and within Chinese culture.
